As the COVID-19 pandemic has pressed on, people throughout the world are struggling to keep up with their livelihood and maintain access to food. This reality is no different in the Philippines.

In LAMCOR, the CSR/Education Committee organized a project aimed to provide relief for employees and their families as they go through financial strain due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were donation drives conducted by the Committee prior to the pandemic and was able to set aside some funds to be used later for charity.

Now is the right time to take the initiative and make use of the funds to help the employees most affected by the shortages brought about by the pandemic. So in partnership with the LAMCOR Employees Cooperative (LEMCO), the Committee was able to distribute 100 packs of relief goods to the intended beneficiaries last August 12, 2020.

This project demonstrated the strength of LAMCOR family that when grouped together to serve others, could make a big difference during a crisis. Not only did it provide essential items to those employees in need, but the project also moved employees’ hearts to support each other more in various aspects of daily life.
